Meet the Teachers

Shelley Hyland

How did you start dancing?

I started dancing at Kindergarten and trained through Hobart Dance Academy and Kinetic Dance Studio.

Why do you love dancing?

Dancing makes you happy, keeps you fit and young at heart.

What do you love about teaching?

I have loved every moment of teaching and have been lucky to meet so many friendly people. It’s a reward to see dancer’s confidence shine through into their everyday lives.

I trained at Hobart Dance Academy and Kinetic Dance Studio. I taught at Glenorchy YMCA and Kinetic Dance Studio.

Why do you love dancing?

I have so many great memories from my childhood dancing days and have had the privilege of running a successful dance school since 1989.

Why do you love teaching?

I love teaching children and adults. I enjoy seeing the children develop into great dancers who grow up into confident adults and who make everlasting friendships.

How did you start dancing?

When I was eighteen months old, I would join in on my sister’s classes’ warm ups. I was three when I was in my first Christmas concert.

Why do you love dancing?

It is just part of my life. I love being able to connect with the words in the song through movement and expressing my emotions.

Why do you love teaching?

I love to see the younger dancers learning and having fun which is the most important part of dancing.

Danielle Crack

How did you start dancing?

I started dancing when I was 6 years old at Tammy’s Company of Dance and moved to RDC when I was 13.

Why do you love dancing?

Because it gives me a sense of freedom and accomplishment. Standing up on the stage every year with my dance mates and having that rush of excitement and happiness. Dancing is my ‘happy place’.

Why do you love teaching?

So I can give my students the same experience as I have had.
